Framing is the mother of the ten thousand things, 2016
Installation; projector, mirrors
5 min, 30 sec

The work Is an Installation that uses mirrors and a projector to transform one coherent videoclip into several different clips. The work fragments the videoclip by the help of the mirrors and their ability to reflect light. The video is projected on a mirror so it gets reflected onto the opposite wall where a number of other mirrors is hanging and throwing back the light on the first wall, but in a new fragmentary expression. The play between the two walls create a space wherein the viewer can walk into the light, and become a part of the apparent fragmentation. The title is a rework of the taoistic saying; The nameless is the origin of heaven and earth; Naming is the mother of the ten thousand things.
