Hisingsparken is, from a geological time perspective, a young formation – a landscape shaped by human influence. The park was established in 1980 and consists of forest, scattered stones, and artificial lakes. Before the area was defined as a park, the stones were already there. These ancient rocks, which were likely moved to the area during the ice age, may be 1–1,5 billion years old and outlast almost all other materials and life in the area.

For us, the place is a recreational area – a park that invites walking, running, and reflection. But from the stones’ perspective, the park’s existence is no more than a fleeting moment. Do these stones, with their deep sense of time, carry any insights or messages – these silent witnesses that will outlive both the park and us humans as a species?
